2023 RECRUITMENT
Primary Recruitment at Iowa State consists of five full days in August prior to the start of the academic school year. Primary recruitment is a great opportunity for women to have the opportunity to meet with members of every Panhellenic chapter on campus.
2023 Dates: August 12-16, 2023
Continuous Open Bidding:
Continuous Open Bidding (or COB) is a form of recruitment where women have the opportunity to meet with specific chapters of interest in a more informal, casual, and personal setting. Continuous Open Bidding takes place throughout the school year, outside of primary recruitment in August. Feel free to email our VP of Recruitment to set up a COB date or click the link below.

"Since the moment I knew I was going to Iowa State, I knew I wanted to join a sorority. Having my older sister Haylee as a member of Pi Beta Phi was a huge reason I wanted to go through Primary Recruitment! I went into Recruitment with an open mind and knew wherever I called home was meant to be. Recruitment for me was nothing but fun and exciting! Being able to talk to all the chapters gave me an overwhelming since of gratitude to know I was going to be apart of something so important! As the days dwindled down I knew Pi Phi was the place I wanted to call home. When I walked out of the chapter on preference night I just knew it wasn’t going to be my last time walking through the doors! The next day I was so blessed to run home to Pi Phi and now call Pi Phi home!"

“When I came to Iowa State I didn’t know much about the sorority community and I wasn’t very interested. Through joining the volleyball club, I met a senior and a junior in Pi Phi who I became friends with. They beamed about their experiences in Pi Phi and told me to just go on one COB date. After one date I got invited to paint for Yell Like Hell during homecoming and everyone was so inviting and excited for me to be there despite being covered in house paint. The sense of community in this chapter is one that I’ve never seen before. They accepted me with open arms during spring semester when I was very nervous about joining half way through the year. These women have been the biggest blessing in my life and Pi Beta Phi has already taught so many valuable lessons through our values and opportunities given to us. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences and I am so glad I took a chance and joined Pi Beta Phi."
