2024 RECRUITMENT

Primary Recruitment:

Primary Recruitment at Iowa State consists of five full days in August prior to the start of the academic school year. Primary recruitment is a great opportunity for women to have the opportunity to meet with members of every Panhellenic chapter on campus.

2024 Dates: August 17-21

Continuous Open Bidding:

Continuous Open Bidding (or COB) is a form of recruitment where women have the opportunity to meet with specific chapters of interest in a more informal, casual, and personal setting. Continuous Open Bidding takes place throughout the school year, outside of primary recruitment in August. Feel free to email our VP of Recruitment to set up a COB date!

“Asa COB, I was unsure of whether I wanted to join a sorority or not. My roommates were all in sororities and I saw the meaningful connections they were making, so I figured I might as well go on a couple of dates and see how I felt. When I went on the date with Pi Phi, I felt like I was talking with long time friends. It was super laid back and we got to talk about anything and everything. I had a lot of fun on the date and knew that Pi Phi was where I wanted to be. I know I have made the correct choice as I have met all of my best friends here. I have also had the chance to grow my leadership and interests at Pi Phi as well. Every one of my sisters is supporting me to be the best that I can be. I am gaining more from being a Pi Phi than I ever thought was possible!”

- Mia Broadstone, Member Class 2022, Vice President of Recruitment

“Coming into freshman year, I knew absolutely nothing about recruitment and how it worked. After rush, and choosing to join Pi Phi, I realized how lucky I was to experience recruitment. I became so close with the girls in my Rho Gam group, including my suitemate. Living with someone who shared the same values and passions as me got me so excited to live in with all of the girls. The beautiful women of Pi Phi have always been beyond accepting of me, my values, and my personality, and made 208 Ash feel like a home, even when I was in the dorms. Through Pi Phi, I have been able to live with my two best friends and my big, which is something I am so blessed to have the opportunity to experience. Joining Pi Beta Phi is the best thing I could have done for myself freshman year, and I am so lucky to have it for more to come."
